Highway 57's Services
Highway 57 designs, builds and develops Web sites. They can range from very simple, basic (and cheap!) sites - such as the ones we did for David Ouvry and Patrick Mills (and indeed this one) - to the kind of full-blown site we did for the London Business Forum, entirely driven by 'back-end' technology and with their own customised Content Management System (which, for obvious reasons, we can't show you). There are plenty of other examples to be seen on our portfolio page.
We can offer a variety of different technologies, such as:
- HTML: obviously - no HTML, no web! (Well, more or less.)
- PHP: powerful scripting language on which this whole site is based.
- JavaScript: graphic rollovers for links (see the top of this page), form validation, daft clocks like this one here, pop-up windows for calendars and the like (you'll find a popup window here), and many other bells and whistles to enliven the page.
- Database-driven sites, using MySQL and PHP, such as the Highway 57 Zappa Zone.
- Flash animation like our jolly intro page.
- ...and, no doubt, more as new technologies come along.
Hosting
Although we don't run our own server, we can arrange hosting at our favoured provider.
Tariff
There isn't one. Prices are arrived at by a combination of quotation and negotiation, and will depend very much on the nature of the work.
Once the site is complete, updating is always done as promptly as possible at an agreed hourly rate.
Other things
While we are perfectly happy to build sites related to most areas of activity (with the usual obvious exceptions), our own personal areas of expertise are music and tourism, so we are particularly keen to work for clients in those fields, where we can bring a special understanding to bear.
We offer a literate service: we will do our best to make sure you don't suffer the embarrassment of speling and gramattical misteak's appearing on your site and we will put apostrophes where they should be and only where they should be!
We can cope with most Western European languages, either using our own linguistic skills or through our translator contacts.
