Back to ... Home ... Cambodia ... Temples of Angkor ...

The most exquisite of the temples we saw, small and built from sandstone rather than the limestone of the others. It dates from the 10th century and is decorated with the most stunning carvings, which are in amazingly good condition. What struck us in particular was how deep and three-dimensional the carvings are. As with the Angkor Wat bas-reliefs, detailed expert explanations of these carvings are welcome.
